Tim Brown creates one of a kind Tintypes. The Wet Plate collodion process was invented by Englishman Frederick Scott Archer in 1851. The process involves coating a metal plate with a mixture of collodion and silver. The plate, still wet, is exposed in the camera, using beautiful hand made vintage brass lenses from the 1800’s, and then developed and “fixed” in the darkroom. The process is valued for the level of detail and clarity it allows. The end result is your portrait made of pure silver on metal.
